McDonald’s Japan, last week, came up with an apologue to a customer after he discovered bits of blue plastic in his Chicken McNuggets. McDonald’s has pulled a million McNuggets from the factory, as a result of that action. To be even more painful another customer found a piece of vinyl in its McNuggets.
The company spokeswoman Takashi Hasegasa said: “We deeply apologize for the trouble we have caused our customers and we are taking quick measures to analyze the cause of the contamination.”
But wait, this isn’t the worst thing found in McDonald’s food. Last August, a customer in Osaka complained after finding a piece of a human tooth in their French fries order. Gross!
McDonald’s has been experiencing some poultry issues though. Last July, they had to close the deal with one of its poultry suppliers in China after the company began mixing expired chicken with fresh chicken meat, making it a potentially deadly health hazard for the customers.
According to CNN, all of these stories have caused a 10% drop in McDonald’s sales just in the last year. McDonald’s is trying to smooth it over with giveaways, discounts, and new nuggets made of tofu. Very interesting.
One thing is for sure, as stories like this hit the public, people start appreciating the value of local, good, organic food.
