4. Invisible GMO Ingredients
Many ingredients found in foods and supplements contain traces of GMO. So if you pick up a natural products or supplements make sure to read the labels and scan for following ingredients: aspartame, amino acids, maltodextrin, vitamin C, monosodium glutamate (MSG), citric acid, lactic acid, molasses, high fructose corn syrup, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, yeast products, ascorbic acid, sucrose, flavorings, molasses and sodium ascorbate.
Most of these chemicals are not only harmful for your health, but are derived from GMO corn.
5. Inorganic Minerals
Most cheap vitamins on the market are loaded with barium, iron and lead. So better get your essential organic minerals from plants instead of inorganic minerals made from seashells and rocks.
6. Hydrogenated Oils
Hydrogenated oils are packed with trans fats and unstable. They increase the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and nerve damage. These hydrogenated oils are often used as filler in many mineral and vitamin supplements or added to health foods.
7. Sodium Benzoate and BHT

These colors are added to supplements and food to make them more likable. Many of these synthetic colorings are derived from coal tar which is used in roofing and paints. Artificial food colorings have been linked to many severe health issues such as birth defects, autism, cancer and ADHD.
9. Heavy Metals
Many protein shakes, detox products, supplements, cosmetics and processed foods contain heavy metals such as lead, arsenic fluoride and aluminum. Be extra careful if you buy green tea or herbs imported from china. They are known to be contaminated with high levels of these heavy metals.
Yet, another toxic filler found in many health foods and supplements. It has been connected to leaky gut, cancer and digestive issues.
A cancer causing chemical, acrylamide, is formed during processing and cooking of carbohydrates. So avoid all grilled fried or roasted snacks such as chips. Because it is not an actual ingredient, you won’t find acrylamide in the ingredients list. Manufacturers do not have to put it on the label because it is formed during processing. Note: even organic chips contain these acrylamides.
